Museum opening

On June 10 1989 the museum was opened by Mrs Daisy Dainty and Mr Ken Goodwin.

Mrs Dainty was born in Husbands Bosworth and as a child helped to raise the money for the Baptist Chapel, when the chapel was demolished to make way for sheltered housing, Harborough District Council donated the cast iron windows to the Foxton Inclined Plane Trust, they are now in the museum.

Ken Goodwin was the Chairman of the Inland Waterways Association.
